Medi Life New Born ICU Paediatric & NICU
Neonatal Transport with Ambulance
- The safe transportation of critically ill or premature newborns to a higher-level neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) is a crucial aspect of neonatal care. Specialized neonatal transport teams, equipped with state-of-the-art ambulances, facilitate the transfer of these vulnerable infants. These mobile intensive care units are staffed by highly trained nurses, respiratory therapists, and neonatologists who can provide advanced life support and continuous monitoring during the journey. The ambulance is outfitted with specialized incubators, mechanical ventilators, infusion pumps, and other medical equipment necessary to maintain the infant's stability. Throughout the transport, the team closely monitors the neonate's vital signs, respiratory status, and overall condition, making real-time adjustments to the care plan as needed.
- The goal is to ensure the safe and expedient transfer of the infant to the receiving NICU, where they can receive the specialized, intensive care required for their medical needs. Efficient and well-coordinated neonatal transport is a critical component of the regionalized system of neonatal care.
